Expressive Art Therapy

Given the complicated thoughts, feelings and emotions involved, starting a conversation on end-of-life can be difficult for most people, even for end-of-life care professionals. Expressive art offers a creative alternative for traditional sit and talk counselling. Through wide range of creative modalities from dance and movement, creative writing, visual arts, music and drama, participants are provided with opportunities to address their psychological, social, and spiritual issues and to channel their emotions and reflect on their experiences in a safe environment. New insights can be gained through creative process. The training will introduce the use of expressive art among patients and family members, to help them better articulate feelings and emotions.
