Leadership Training Programme 2020
General Information
JCECC is a project initiated and supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust since 2016. It aims at improving the quality of End-of-Life Care (EoLC), enhancing the capacity of service providers, as well as raising public awareness. One of our missions is to develop future leaders in EoLC who are effective, innovative, strategic and flexible in responding to the emerging challenges of global aging. Our Leadership Programmes in 2016 & 2017 have successfully empowered and networked over 50 health & social care leaders in the field. In the coming Leadership Programme 2020, in addition to exposing the participants to the latest local and global EoLC developments, we strive to inspire our participants the essential leadership qualities in developing, delivering and sustaining good quality service, and contributing to the service betterment with personal and professional visions.
Programme Objectives
- To upskill the health and social care workforce with essential leadership capacities to develop and to sustain quality EoLC service in Hong Kong.
Targeted Participants
- 25-30 health and social care professionals, preferably working in middle management or responsible for service development, will be recruited through nominations by health/ social care organizations or social enterprises which are committed to serve end-of-life patients/ frail elderly in the community.
- Nominees should:
- have at least 5 years of post-qualification working experiences;
- possess EoLC competence equivalent to the targeted proficiencies of JCECC Online Basic Course (applicants are encouraged to finish the 7-hour online course prior to admission. Information can be found at https://www.jcecc.hk/onlinelearning);
- Commit to read assigned portfolio and attend a minimum of 80% of the Leadership Programme sessions
- Complete the capstone project.

- October 2020 to July 2021

- Free of charge
Application & Enquiry
- Applications are done through agency nominations. Participants are required to complete a nomination form with personal statement on their expectations on the programme, and vision on developing EoLC service programme in their work settings. They are also required to submit a CV as reference for their relevant working experience in end-of-life care or relevant settings.
